A Farewell From Stillheart

Dear Friends,

In 2003, our vision for Stillheart was to provide a sanctuary for the transformation of humanity. Since then, we have provided a venue for groups ranging from spiritual to corporate to educational, and it has been our pleasure to serve more than seven thousand people from around the world at our facility in Woodside, CA.

In life, we are always presented with opportunities to change and grow, and it has come time for a change at Stillheart. We have sold our facility and land in Woodside, CA to an organization whose intention is to open a recovery center to serve and heal people who are suffering from drug and alcohol addictions.

Stillheart Institute will continue to be an educational non-profit public charity on the island of Kauai, where founders, Joan and Bill Porter, reside. Through the Porter Trust, 170 acres of land on Kauai will be held in perpetuity to be used as a sanctuary where people can learn about sustainability through living, working and playing together. Activities planned for the land are organic farming, a seed bank, a community food forest, hydroponic farming, a community dog park, community gardens, a school for 4-7-year olds, a small healing center and an intentional community of 15-20 people living together in harmony with the mission of co-creating a sanctuary of love—heaven on earth.

We thank all of you for your support and energy you’ve brought to Stillheart over the years and wish you well in all your future transformational endeavors.

In gratitude,

Joan Porter, Founder – joan@stillheart.org
