Girl Power Events

We are looking for sponsors for our 2012 Girl Power Days and beyond!

As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. Watch this video to experience part of the success of 2011's Girl Power Day. Alcatel-Lucent was a corporate sponsor:

For 2012, we are partnering with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley and the Mid-Pennisula Boys and Girls Clubs, and have expanded our Girl Power offerings for 2012 to include three events. We are currently seeking sponsorships, both in-kind and monetary, to subsidize the costs.

This year's theme: Body, Mind and Spirit.

One 2-day/overnight retreat will be offered in April (Tues, April 10 - Wed. April, 11) as well as two, 1-day summer programs, tentatively scheduled for the last Wednesday in June and July. Stillheart is donating the space, staff time, and food. Community female volunteers will participate.

OVERNIGHT PROGRAM: Offered to 100 girls
- Girls from 11 different Boys and Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley will participate. (Miraculously, they all have the same Spring Break week this year.)
- Girls are mainly from single-parent, low-income families in East and South San Jose in neighborhoods
This Stillheart Event is part of a larger Club program:
-All girls attending are required to be part of the Club’s SMART girls program, which stands for Skills Mastery AndResistance Training. The retreat will be offered to girls with the highest participation and attendance.
- Girls meet every week during the year, and will be reading a book as part of the program and in preparation for the retreat. Plans are to have the author speak.
-Clubs will take responsibility for planning and preparing a retreat meal, as a concrete way of applying the nutrition information they are learning in their clubs.

ONE-DAY SUMMER PROGRAMS:
 - Include girls from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley and the Mid-Pennisula Boys and Girls Clubs
 - Are part of the Clubs' summer programs
 - Are still in the planning stages

What a sponsorship includes:

-Your logo on the event listing page, listed under sponsors, plus a link to your site.
-Your logo on all promotional pieces - newsletter, social networking, etc.
-Option to contribute a 150 word piece to the Stillheart blog on why your company feels empowering young girls is important.
-Opportunities for female staff to volunteer.

Please Note: These events will be recurring annually so sponsors can opt to sponsor multiple events and/or submit the donation request whenever their companies budgeting process allows and sponsorship dollars can be applied to future events.
